Becoming a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) in 2017 and joining the Zentangle community was one of the best decisions of my life. I grew up as one of those kids that excelled in making all sorts of artsy—craftsy things. I grew into an artsy-craftsy adult as well, primarily focused on card making, stamping, and paper crafting - all of which have taken a bit of a back seat to my Zentangle art.
I retired from an awesome 32+ year federal government career. During my career, I also devoted my spare time to volunteering with many organizations such as the USO and Maryland Westie Rescue, to name a couple. In recent years, I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer my Zentangle teaching and hope to do more of that as needed.
My goal of becoming a CZT was never to turn it into a regular teaching business. I figured I‘d teach here and there, but mostly I just loved taking classes, being around other tanglers, and travelling to fun Zentangle-related art retreats. At some point (during the initial year of the ‘pan-dammit’), I thought of the idea to hold an “online” all-day, no-frills retreat for ALL tangle enthusiasts, make it very affordable, and not restrict it to CZTs. Well, here we are! The Tangled Seasons events are going strong, and the rest is wonderful history!
